Interesting set of World War I stories related to the British Naval service. Includes stories on lighthouse, naval ambulance trains, submarines, seaplanes, minesweepers and mine sweeping, coast watchers, and a naval school. Interesting and informative. Introduction by Lady Beatty, the wife of an admiral in charge of the battle fleet at the end of the war. Published in 1917 when WW I was still underway.I consider the stories interesting and topical for 1917. However, they are not great literature.

Some Naval Yarns Mordaunt Hall 9781373492821 Books Reviews
This is a collection of essays concerning not usually covered parts of the war effort in Brittain during WWII. Well worth the read!
It is nice to read an account in English which is written in a style from a couple of generations ago!
The book was good and you cant beat the free price tag ... ha ha so I recommend it to readers of nonfiction
Unexciting but nevertheless true stories of war experiences. Some mundane some right on the firing line. Suit yourself, true, but not a barnburner
This is a wonderful little book on the life of mostly ordinary people in Great Britain during WW I. It appears that the author was allowed to participate in several daily military activities, including a flight in a patrol aircraft, day trip on a destroyer and visit to a lighthouse among others. This would be an excellent source of material for anyone researching the life and times of WW I, especially in Great Britain.
